      <image:title>About - Hi, I’m Sherra</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, nutritionist of the holistic art of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I received my Masters degree from Yo San University. My Bachelor’s degree is in Psychology from University of Washington. Both degrees were received with highest honors. My interest in TCM was inspired while working as a case manager/coordinator for oncology teams and patients at major medical centers. Over the nearly 30 years I spent in this environment, I became increasingly passionate about empowering and supporting patient’s innate healing potential. I have a great respect for western medicine/science, but observed that the individual patient can be lost as the disease becomes the focus. I see this as a lost opportunity because there are many ways a patient can participate in their own recovery. Chinese medicine is an empowering healing option. It can be integrated with current western treatments as an opportunity to increase healing and wellbeing. It can also treat many syndromes on its own as documented by the World Health Organization and NIH in the paper, Acupuncture: Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials. Acupuncture (iama.edu) Your body is miraculously resilient and works diligently to maintain harmony. Sometimes it needs support. Disharmony speaks through your symptoms. Diagnosis includes looking at your tongue, taking pulse and personal interview to determine how your body is functioning and where/why the disharmony is occurring. Acupuncture, herbs and cupping are the tools I use to promote balance and help your body regain harmony. I view myself not only as a healthcare provider, but as a facilitator, teacher and guide who uses these tools to nurture your body’s intrinsic natural healing ability.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Treatments - Acupuncture</image:title>
<image:caption>Activates Natural Healing Your body is a complex network of energetic and physiological pathways that work together to maintain balance and optimal health. Many of these channels are connected to specific organs, while others run across the body, linking areas from the inside out. These pathways, known as meridians, interact to support the overall harmony of your body, mind, and spirit. Along these meridians are key acupuncture points that have distinct properties, allowing them to influence the flow of energy and the organs they correspond to. Modern science has identified these acupuncture points in areas dense with blood vessels, nerves, and myofascial trigger points. While these points are highly sensitive, acupuncture is typically painless, with minimal to no discomfort. During an acupuncture session, very fine, flexible, sterile, stainless steel needles are gently inserted into specific points chosen based on your individual diagnosis. The goal is to stimulate your body’s natural healing processes, encouraging balance, healing and vitality. The needles are left in place for approximately 30 minutes, allowing you to rest and relax during the treatment. Acupuncture is a deeply restorative and calming experience. It promotes healing, reduces stress, and helps address a wide range of physical and emotional imbalances by supporting the body’s inherent ability to restore itself.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Treatments - Cupping</image:title>
<image:caption>Myofascial Release, Improved Circulation and Lymphatic Flow Your body is constantly in motion—muscles, fascia, tissues, and fluids working together to maintain balance and health. However, factors such as injury, poor posture, stress, illness, diet, or a sedentary lifestyle can cause stagnation, reducing the natural flow and movement within these areas. When this happens, the body’s vitality can slow down, leaving you feeling stiff, tight, or out of balance. Cupping therapy uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissues, creating space for improved circulation and release. By placing glass cups on the skin and using fire to create the suction, I help stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen, and vital energy to areas that need it most. Cupping can be done both in a stationary position or in a more dynamic, moving form. As the cups create suction, they leave temporary marks on the skin. These marks serve as valuable diagnostic tools, revealing insights into the state of the body based on their color and how quickly they heal. While cupping often feels deeply relaxing, it’s also a highly effective treatment for relieving pain, inflammation, and improving circulation. Cupping is an ancient therapy practiced for thousands of years across many cultures. In fact, the world’s oldest medical text, the Ebers Papyrus, mentions cupping therapy as part of its healing practices. It’s similar to deep tissue massage in its ability to promote relaxation and overall well-being, but with the added benefit of helping your body release tension and restore energy flow.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Food is Medicine Most of us know this on some level—but the intention to truly nourish ourselves can get lost. In a culture full of convenience and constant treats, it’s easy to confuse fullness with nourishment. Sometimes, healthier choices feel out of reach, and processed foods seem quicker, cheaper, or just easier. Choosing to feed your body with care is one of the most important things you can do for your health. This doesn’t mean we don’t get to enjoy treats sometimes! Traditional Chinese Medicine holds a deep and nuanced understanding of nutrition. It is a cornerstone of this medicine. It looks at food through the lens of season, flavor, temperature, color, and how each ingredient affects the organs and energetic systems of the body. It’s a system rooted in nature—and one that aligns with the wisdom already in your body. I use these principles to help you reconnect with food in a way that supports healing, balance, and vitality. We’ll find simple, enjoyable ways to use food as medicine—tailored to your body, your life, and your goals.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Support Your Healing For millennia, humans have relied on herbs to support health and facilitate healing. Just as food wisdom is embedded in our DNA, so too is herbal wisdom. With my rigorous education, extensive study, and board certification, I hold the title of Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.), granting me the ability to practice traditional Chinese herbalism nationwide. When seeking herbal treatments from an acupuncturist, it’s important to ensure they hold this credential. Herbal medicine is both powerful and highly individualized, requiring expert knowledge and understanding of its transformative effects. The Chinese medicine pharmacopeia is comprehensive, well-documented, and deeply effective. While herbal prescriptions often address symptoms directly, they are designed to treat the whole body, promoting overall balance and healing in relation to the symptom. I always begin with food and acupuncture as initial treatment responses, but herbs can be a highly effective tool in maximizing your body’s natural health and healing potential. The herbs I prescribe are of the highest quality, meeting rigorous safety standards required in the USA, ensuring both effectiveness and safety in your treatment.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Mindful Support for Your Healing Journey I will partner with you. Sharing by teaching and guiding, I will support you in reconnecting with your body’s natural intelligence—but just as importantly, I listen and learn from you. Understanding your unique environment, patterns, and experiences helps me offer care that’s truly personalized. Through the lens of Chinese medicine, we explore the language of your body—how it communicates, how it seeks balance, and how it responds to both internal and external influences. These ancient teachings, grounded in thousands of years of observation, help us uncover where imbalance exists and how we can gently shift toward harmony. Mindfulness is a vital part of Eastern medicine. Together, we bring awareness to your daily rhythms, emotions, habits, and choices. With intention and compassionate curiosity, we begin to understand how to realign your system—not just physically, but emotionally and energetically. The process is about tuning in rather than fixing, and empowering rather than prescribing. You are the master of your own universe—your body, your mind, your spirit. My goal is to help you deepen that connection and trust in your own capacity to heal and thrive. If you're unable to schedule in-person sessions, reach out to discuss virtual coaching options. Wherever you are, support is available.</image:caption>
